Okay, I don’t see ANYwhere on here that I can choose a font that I want.   Is this possible to do or not?   I have no idea.  right now I’m trying to figure out whether or not that I want to keep my blog here or to have it at Blogger or at Typepad.  No idea!

A no-spend month?

dust

Well, I’m down to only $50.00 in my savings account and I had it built up to like $200.00 at one time.

One big problem I see here is that I honestly can’t think of what it all was that I spent the money on.

How frustrating!

I fully intend to make January a no-spend month and hopefully I’ll be able to follow through with it.

I’ve decided that in order to keep saving [without spending the money], I need to have some sort of goal to save for.

There are two things that I can think of right now but will have to define it later on.

The two things I can think of now are:

  • A laptop [so if something happens to my computer]

  • A maltese dog [when something happens to Lexi like old age, etc.]

It seems to that once I start withdrawing money from my savings, the less interested I am about putting money into the account.

I need to start being faithful in saving because I want to have $1,000.00 in my savings by July 1, 2008.

That would make it to where I had to save $100.00 a month and then in July I’ll get my rent rebate which should be over $400.00.

I can do this, I know I can!

Recipe: 10 Minute Cake

awebflippity2sunday

Ten Minute Cake

Milk

2 eggs

1/4 tsp. salt

3/4 cup sugar

1 1/2 cups flour

1/2 tsp. vanilla

1 1/2 tsp. baking powder

1/4 cup butter (or margarine)

(The recipe doesn’t state how much milk to use, but I just add a little bit of it at a time to the mix until I get the consistency that batter is supposed to be!)

Directions: Mix ingredients together, pour into baking pan and bake at 350-375 degrees for 25 minutes.

For chocolate cake, add 5 TBSP. cocoa + 2 TBSP. sugar and 1/4 cup vegetable oil.

I’ve made this cake many times and it’s quick, easy and is really good too!

Religion that pleases God the Father must be pure and spotless.

You must help needy orphans and widows and avoid every kind of evil.

God is so good!

cwblinknew

Great news, I’ve found someone who is willing [and excited] about coming into our building to preach on a weekly basis!

This is something I’ve been working on for the past couple of weeks and finally, it all come together. happy

scripturehouseofthelord

Our first church service will be this coming Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and will be down in our community room.

Needless to say – I am so excited, as are quite a few others in the building!

dg_ItsMeAgain

Please pray for my son, Jason … he’s an alcoholic and called me earlier today and said that he is so tired of living his life the way he has been.

Also, he said he’s willing to talk to the person who’s coming in here to do our services …

And said that he is thinking about starting to go to church.

If any of you knew my son, you’d know that this is an absolute miracle!

So, I ask that you please pray that he follows through with both, starting church and getting help with his drinking problem.

Also that he’ll be able to find a job or get some income as he’s staying with a friend for now but doesn’t think he’ll be able to much longer.

He’s not allowed to stay with me because of the building I live in and because of the lease, etc.

Thanks so much!

Easy Applesauce Cake

flour4

Just found this recipe in one of my folders and thought maybe you’d like to try it!

Easy Applesauce Cake

2 ½ cups flour
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground cloves
½ teaspoon allspice
1 ½ cups applesauce
½ cup water
½ cup butter
2 eggs
1 cup raisins
½ cup chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 13 x 9-inch pan. Measure all ingredients into large mixer bowl.

Blend on low speed until combined, scraping bowl as needed. Beat 3 minutes on highs speed. Pour into pan.

Bake 55-60 minutes or until wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool and cut into squares.

Note: I realize that the fractions might be hard to read so wanted to tell you that all of them are 1/2’s except for one, which is for the 1/4 tsp. of baking powder.

(This can be made without the raisins and walnuts and is still good!)

Avoiding Foolish Talk

prettywomensigjennelle2

This is something that I need to work on and thought I’d post it in case it might speak to someone else as well.

Have a nice day, friends!

“Avoid godless, foolish talk that leads to more and more ungodliness.”

- 2 Timothy 2:16

Avoid – To stay clear of; to refrain from; escape; evade

godless – Not recognizing God

foolish – Lacking good sense or judgement; unwise; ridiculous

ungodliness – wickedness; sinful

This of course, would include:

  • Gossiping

  • Speaking bad of others

  • Speaking bad to others

  • Speaking when angry

    Things we should be speaking:

  • Praises to [and about] God

  • Witnessing about God and his goodness

  • Edifying and building others up

And, as a Proverbs 31 woman – our speech should always be wise and kind.

Proverbs 31:26 says “She opens her mouth with wisdom and on her tongue is the law of kindness.”

    Dear Lord,

Please help us to speak things only that are pleasing to you.

    Amen
